J. Nat. Prod., 67, 1711 (2004)
From my
experience I would estimate that approximately 5% of all C=C-C=O
fragments, like cinnamic acids, coumarins, etc. have been misassigned
in the chemical literature.
An example from the newer literature
can be found in J.Nat.Prod.,67,1711(2004) when paying attention to the
assignment of compound #13.
Again an investment
of approximately 10 milliseconds of CPU-time shows this assignment
error. Within the CSEARCH-environment, the NN-calculation can be
activated during data-display, which analyzes every entry on-the-fly.
